Segelskar Rajavartiolaitos rescue

Rescue at Segelskär Island in the Gulf of Finland: A coastguard (Rajavartiolaitos) cutter tows my boat back to the mainland near Tammisaari. The rescue took place in windy seas after a sudden fuel line breakage caused my 40 horsepower aluminum boat to drift helplessly onto the windward side of Segelskär skerry. There, it was tossed and pinned by wind and surging waves against the unforgiving granite rocks. The demise of my little craft was almost assured without the Coast Guard's prompt response to my emergency call. Segelskär is left astern on the horizon.
